Linpro's history
Linpro was established in Oslo in October 1995, by Dag Asheim. Linpro was the first Norwegian company dedicated to doing business with Linux.
Linpro's consulting business was expanded to product sales in 1998. The company was a very attractve (part-time) employer for students at the Department of Informatics at the University of Oslo. By 1999, the company had 5-10 employees.
In 2000, we added IT operations to business areas, and established subsidiaries in Trondheim and Fredrikstad, staffed by professionals from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and the Østfold University College respectively.
In 2001, our training center was established.
From 2001 to 2003, Linpro experienced the same financial turbulence as the rest of the industry, and needed to cut down on staff and discontinued the offices in Trondheim and Fredrikstad.
Since the summer of 2004, Linpro has shown a stable growth, and the number of employees has increased.
In September 2005, Linpro moved to new offices at Storo in Oslo. In 2006, we also acquired Oberon i Stavanger and 51 percent of LinuxLabs in Oslo.
